What’s Been Happening Here

Angora hat for this lady right here.

I know it’s been awhile since I have posted anything. I got shingles two days after my last post and it has been kicking my butt. I am over the rash and most of the pain, now it’s just fatigue that I am dealing with. But since I had shingles on my head I had to shave my head because of the pain and I wanted air to get to the rash. Because I shaved my head and it’s the dead of winter here in New England I needed an angora hat. So I crocheted one out of baby angora. A lot of people who raise angora will throw out baby angora because it’s too soft and slick. I spin it with a drop spindle and love working with it. This hat is super warm.

This is also turning into the year of the baby. I have 6 baby blankets in the works. One is about a year overdo, but I’m making it big enough for him to snuggle for years to come. This one blanket is a sample knit blanket with crochet joining on the squares and border. The others are all crochet. One is a spike stitch, two back loop crochet blankets, a linked heart blanket, and an alpine stitch crochet blanket. I am so excited about all of these! So keep an eye out on the progress of these blankets.

I am still trucking along on my daughter’s socks. They are actually almost done. I just made the heel and am now working on the leg of the sock. My plan is to have it done by the end of the month and go into full baby blanket mode.

So now that I am hopefully getting better, and catching up on photos and work, I will hopefully be here more. If you guys haven’t had a chance to check out my other web page that is completely devoted to the rabbits who make all of this possible check it out at www.samollynnangorarabbits.com.
