Episode 2:1

It’s been a while. The new year arrived, and we lost my grandmother. She was one of the few constants in my life, alongside my mother and other grandmother, and the vital link to my father. Losing her felt like losing a piece of my heart. But I know her well—she’d expect me to carry on with my life and pursue what I love. I’ve taken a month to process it. I’m still producing work, but the extras had to take a backseat for a bit.

What’s New?

So, what’s new? For those who don’t know, I sell my angora rabbits’ fiber. I’ve managed to keep it pretty well stocked, though I’m currently down to just black, tortoiseshell, and white. In the next few months, I’m hoping to build up my supply again.

I’ve added a new product to the shop: lovely, lightweight, fingerless mitts. These beautiful mitts are hand-knit using a yarn blend of wool, mohair, and acrylic fibers. Inspired by cool spring weather and chilly summer mornings, they’re perfect for warmer seasons. If your hands get cold in air-conditioned offices, these are ideal. Small enough to toss in your purse for easy travel, they’re also great for brisk spring days or cool summer nights by the fire. Check them out here!

I’m currently working on more fingerless mitts. The ones in progress are custom-made for my husband’s grandmother. I’m also crocheting some bunnies to have ready for Easter orders next week.

Bun of the Month!

I’d like to spotlight one of my angora rabbits each month. These little champs work hard growing their fiber for me to use, and they deserve some love. This month’s star is Artemis, a bunny from my breeding three years ago. Her father was my first blue-eyed white born here. Artemis is a Vienna-marked black with a charming white splash on her nose. The Vienna gene, which some of my rabbits carry, shows up as partial or full blue eyes and white markings—on the nose, head, neck, or paws. It can range from a tiny sliver to a bold ring stretching down to the shoulders. Artemis isn’t big on socializing; she’d rather kick back and munch on apple branches. You can find fiber from her and her two black-furred kids in the shop here!

Shows I’m Loving

I’m really getting into Max’s new show, The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle. You might remember Wyle as Carter from the ‘90s hit ER. This feels like a full-circle moment for him—back then, he played a resident just starting his medical career, and now in The Pitt, he’s the ER’s seasoned head. The show follows a real-time format like 24, and it’s just an all-around solid watch.

Books I’m Enjoying

I read seven books in February, and my favorite was Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli. It follows Rune, a woman who goes undercover to save witches, including a friend of her grandmother trapped in prison. To get inside, she starts courting the guard captain—only he’s hunting her secret alter ego, the Crimson Moth. Naturally, they fall in love, then vow to destroy each other. It’s a gripping story! I’m now reading the sequel, Rebel Witch, and it’s just as good so far. I can’t recommend this book enough.

Music to Love

I have always loved a good sea shanty, so I have to give a shout out to Sail North. I found these guys on Instagram and have loved every song they have released. You can find them on all major music platforms.

That’s it for this month! I’ll be back next month with more goodies and updates. Until then!
